Social purpose

Inicially based upon Services Rendering in general ( Representation, Insurance and Shipping Agency ), this social purpose had been rapidly exceeded and extended, although still maintaining this important initial aim.
 
Gradually, Vasconcelos Lopes Company, Lda. had been entering in other kind of business of greater dimension, such as Trade Importation.

Historical summary

With the advent of Independence, some of the greatest Commercial Operators of that time had retracted under Importation Trade, and it was precisely in this field that Vasconcelos Lopes Company had concentrated and developped its action. Taking advantage of this gap, Vasconcelos Lopes, Lda. had accelerated its intervention in the importation business, starting to import great quantities of alimentary goods that the population had need.
 
The familiar efforts had been reinforced and due to the good results achieved, the Company had run into other fields of business, such as importation of materials for civil construction and also domestic electrical appliances, ending to reach fastly the leadership of the local market.
 
In partnership with other Importer, the Company had entered in the Cement business, reaching, together, a volume of thousand of tones imported. Afterwards, it had abandoned the partnership and had worked directly with its own Suppliers, starting to import, directly from Indonesia, Romenia and Egypt, full shipments loaded with 8.000, 12.000 and even 14.800 tones of cement each time.
 
The Company still maintains these Cement operations in full dynamics and functionality, and has received, till now, 48 ships fully loaded with cement, oscilating between 8.000 and 14.000 tones each.
